Whether you’re new to the community or are moving back, you’ll find that there’s all sorts of things to experience, taste, and explore! While West-Central Minnesota is fairly remote, we’ve found a great amount of contentment and joy in our little neck-of-the-woods. Our members love talking about our community and have taken the time to come up with a list of recommendations for you to check out - on your own time, of course. You may also find some use in the long-term recommendations - like mechanic shops, utility services, and local businesses. Whatever you happen to be looking for, we’d love to help you get a jumpstart in exploring a part of Minnesota that we love!
Eats and Treats
Knotty Pine in Elbow Lake is great. Also, check out Cool Beans Coffee in Fergus Falls. - Kellie
If you’re in the Battle Lake area, I would check out The Boathouse. All of their food is pretty good. - Mike and Brea
If you’re looking for an all you can eat fish fry, I would recommend the Shoreline Restaurant. They have a good fish fry every Friday throughout the year. - Jeff
Parks, Trails, Beaches, and More!
Oak and iron is a great place to go if you’re looking for something to do with friends or family. The golf simulators are very fun and if you’re looking for a mental challenge you can try one of the escape rooms. - Luke
You should check out the Fergus Falls Public Library. There’s great places to study and read, pick up some good books; you can even check out a temporary Minnesota State Park Pass! - Dan
Glendalough has a nice beach and beautiful hikes all four seasons. - Lynell
The Broken Down Dam just outside of Fergus Falls is interesting and it has a pretty interesting story. - Lynda

Looking for a one-stop shop in town? Check out Victor Lundeen Company in downtown Fergus Falls. I love browsing their books, décor, puzzles, toys, and baby items. It’s also a great spot to find unique gifts for family, friends, or teachers. Plus, their print shop is perfect for Christmas cards or any other printing needs! - Whitney
